Hey Kevin: I‘ve done Montezuma‘s Tower several times and agree it‘s a fun climb. If you‘re good at the 5.7 level you‘d really enjoy End of an Era and esp. New Era (both 5.7) on Kindergarten Rock, maybe Bob‘s Buttress Crack (5.9). Mega-classic routes. Anyway, great report and very striking pics.

I too, fall into the category of climbers who haven‘t really explored or exploited Garden of the Gods nearly enough, even though I live literally 10 minutes away!! I‘ve done plenty of rock and alpine climbing in other parts of the state, but have only just recently started exploring this wonderful park. I loved the pics and great descriptions! Next time you go, I‘d love to join!

Love The Shots!

Ballsy. I would not have had the nerve to take my hands off rock for taking the photos. . Did this tower as one of my first rock climbs ever in ‘06 with Jamie, owner of Pikes Peak Alpine School. It was part of a mountaineering cram course I took to qualify for HAMS.
