 California Peak - North Ridge

RT Distance: 8.4 miles
RT Gain: 4,100 feet
RT Time: ~6 hours

Beta:
* You can drive to within ~100 yards of the Lower Huerfano Trailhead
* No real need for snow shoes, although gaiters were a must
* Due to snow covering the trail in the trees and dense fog, a GPS was pretty handy for routefinding
* I did use my ice axe once on a steep slope descending from the north ridge, although this stretch may have been avoidable.

Great pictures! That must have been a cool climb looking down on the clouds.

Great pics--the one of the Sand Dunes, especially--and some beta I can put to use. Mucho gusto.
