 Quandary East Ridge ski descent

Blue bird windy day on Quandary this Sunday. After sleeping in the truck at the TH, I joined Bret and Aaron in the morning, and departed at 7:30am. Trail was more than well packed down all the way to the summit.
Our group spread out a little bit on the hike and I took the lead due to skinning up rather than snowshoeing. Also, my dog, Levi, was begging me to go faster every step of the way. We also got to meet 'Quandary Dog'!
Reached the summit at 11:30 and skied down the East Ridge. Image Image Image Image I was a leery of the lee wind loading, but there really didn't seem to be much fresh snow at all. Image Image Above 12,500, the snow was fairly now. Down lower is was very crusty. By noon, there were another 8 hikers heading up the ridge and maybe the sun warmed up the whole descent for them. love the photos! I saw you heading down while we were heading up the ridge. The snow on the up part of the ridge was still crusty, even for snow shoes, but lower down it was pretty fluffy and my snow shoes seemed to bounce off it. cute dog btw
