Add your trip report here... A great first experience on a 14er, Grays. Left parking lot with only three cars in it at 5:45, thought that would be about right on a monday. Beautiful sunrise that just lite up torreys. The hike was a great workout and got the the summit at 8:00 after hiking through 2 - 4" of fresh snow.
The surprise was all the folks I met on the way down, the first group who I met in the parking lot, also new 14er folks were excited for me and watched me get the top... high fives.
Actually fun meeting all the folks on the way down, a few groups training for the Leadville race were just hopping up to get alltitude acclimated... fit buggers.
Lots of fun with Pikas cheering me on all the way.
Next up Beirstadt
Cheers,
Buckskin

Ya man, the snow was there but I got off early and it was a beautiful day, between yesterdays weather and today the snow should be gone.... unless another mini front shows up and throws some white stuff around! AH... climbing in the rockies!
*whew! Well, we‘re all going to bring warmer stuff just in case! I tell my friend that moved here from Wisconsin that it‘s useless checking the weather report because it doesn‘t mean a thing!
Tis the truth out West, ESPECIALLY in the high country, the trolls of the peaks make their own weather!
