We are from Iowa(my wife and I are both 55) and made it up Quandary on 8/6.Left at 6am and we took the main route up and did it in about 3 hrs 50 minutes. Nnot bad for a couple of flatlanders.Great views and thanks to whoever has built those steps in to the rocks in parts of the trail. Quite a few people up there which was nice. Had to hustle downvas weather rolled in pretty quick and it hailed on us by the time we hit treeline

We later learned about the hiker coming up another way fell and died. If he started later in the day, the weather might have been a factor.

We plan to head back out in late september and would like to do another"easy" 14er. any suggestions. We are staying in Breck.

Thanks

Try Mt Sherman - outside of Fairplay. One of the easiest we‘ve ever done.
