Columbia - Missing Register Canister and Lost Blue Nalgene with Note

Started in the dark and reached Columbia's summit real early (sunrise) to beat the storms that were rolling through the Rocky Mountains all week. Zero visibility on top Columbia and the Register Cannister was missing - just a piece of the severed wire cable was poking out of the rocks. I looked all over but could never find the cannister. Maybe I missed it or it's actually gone - does the Colorado Mountain Club provide replacement cannisters?

Also on the summit I found a blue Nalgene bottle with a note telling somebody to turn back if they hadn‘t reached the summit in a certain amount of time. There were other items in the Nalgene - I'll send it to the owner if they can describe the contents. NOTE: I NEVER remove notes, cairns, or anything else from the mountains unless I'm absolutely sure they're not needed and out-of-date. So, I was very careful about making the decision to remove this particular item from Columbia's summit. Also, I checked with a half dozen other climbers, on my way down, to see if they knew anything about it and none of them did - including those who took the long, long ridge to the top.

Anyway, here's a YouTube video of my experience in the fog on top Columbia:
