 Busy jeep trail on Antero

Just a quick note on the jeep trail up Mt Antero: rain and lots of traffic have chewed it up pretty bad. You definitely want to have a fairly high ground clearance, and four wheel drive to negotiate it. It's also quite slippery when wet, so start early. There are several places to park along the way, so you can make the climb as hard or easy as you want. If you go all the way to the top of the jeep trail, it's the easiest 14er you will ever do. Maybe 600' of elevation gain... The snow is completely gone from the trail, so that's no problem. Be prepared for a lot of company; not from other hikers, but from people on ATVs. We must have seen 15 or 20 of them, which made for some interesting passings going up and down the jeep trail. We also saw quite a few people in jeeps or modified 4X4s looking for some fun four wheeling, who didn't appear to be there to climb. I'm attaching a picture of my wife, who did her first 14er, with Shavano and Tab in the background.
