We left Denver at 5am in the morning. Arrived at Kite Lake parking lot at 7:30am. Started past the lake up the East ridge of Democrat. Image,Image Just before the saddle there was a small amount of snow. Image Here is Eric on the Saddle just before ascending Democrat. Image We missed the actual trail as we neared the top, so we did a little light scrambling. Image Top of Democrat (1 hour 35 minutes Image. Back down to the saddle again and on to Cameron. Weather was getting a little dark, but we pushed on. We didn't even stop on Cameron as Lincoln looked more impressive. Didn't take long to get on Cameron. I think it took us 25-35 minutesImage. A nice flat walk across the saddle to Lincoln and a quick ascent and we topped our 3rd of the day in about 2 hrs 30 minutes. Sweet pick over the ledge before the summit of Lincoln Image. Top of Lincoln Image Then back down to the saddle and veering south to Mt. Bross for a nice flat walk most of the way. Image Then a couple switch backs to the top. Image Dark clouds moved in, so we took the West slope down. Image Lots of loose rock, but we managed. As we arrived back at the parking lot in 4hrs 44 minutes it began to rain and sleet. Timing is everything.

These peaks are technically closed. I‘m not saying don‘t climb them, its just better if its kept on the D.L.

How would a person know if a peak was ”Closed”? And, why would a peak be closed? Just curious, I plan on hiking these later in the summer..

Actually, according to the Mosquito Range Heritage Initiave, they are open via the Kite Lake routes only. They are closed from Windy Ridge road area, and from the Roberts Rd / Quartzville (e.side of Lincoln). Stop in the moutain gear store, Out Ya Go, in Alma for more information.
