We started the climb from Blue Lake Rd since the road to the trail head was still covered in several feet of snow. The early group started at 5:45AM and consisted of Mountain Woman, Lostsheep5, Crazydiamond80, and myself. We took a break right around tree-line as the sun was cresting.
Once we got going again, we started to spread out a little. After 9AM the sun began to heat the snow up, most of us put on our snow shoes for the rest of the climb up.
Crazydiamond80 was the first to make it to the summit in our group. Along the way, the later group caught up to us. We met up with Chuck, covfrrider, ShowMeMike, and his daughter. Best part, we all made it up there and enjoyed a snack.
Here is the group on the summit.
On the way back down, Lostsheep5 attempted a glissade but the snow was too wet.
Around 12,000 feet the snow got VERY sloppy and without snow shoes, there was a lot of post holes happening. We got back to the TH around 1 or so and tried to hit Breckenridge Brewery for a post hike burger but they were closed for the week. We ended up going to a Chinese place that turned out to be really good.
I really enjoy doing these group hikes. I get to meet new people, visit with people I have hiked with before, and most of all....enjoy the company of people that love to hike like me. I had a great time.

Good Report, quick and to the point....
Nice Photos to.
I should take your advice and do a group climb. Most of my friends would rather hear about my (mostly solo) trips.
they would rather hear about trips than actually attempt them with me.
