Awesome day in the SJs!

Prakash - It was great to finally hike with you. Thanks for writing up the nice TR.

Jamies - as usual it was a pleasure getting out with you guys again.

Sunshine & Redcloud were more enjoyable this second time around for me. Sunshine‘s east ridge was quite nice I thought. That crazy steep approach was definately interesting.

You guys make it look soooo easy! I know it‘s not... but still. Great job, and thanks for the inspiration! Makes me want to get back to the San Juans! (in summer)

Nice effort Horse-With-No-Ass. Glad to hear you have crossed the 14k line without AMS, maybe now we can converse above treeline?

nice job prakash. it was great climbing with you and the ladies again. maybe we‘ll work something out in the near future?

keith- don‘t fret too much. this route is probably easier with snow cover. it hides/protects you from lots of the undergrowth.

Just realized I never posted a link to my pictures from the hike. Better late than never I guess:

Good work guys (and Gals)!

or should it be the other way around? I‘d like you to point out that route to me sometime; I looked around and never really figured out where it was, though Ken N tried to explain it to me. In my defense, it was fairly dark when I was looking for it. (But, then, I‘m always kinda in the dark.)

Nicely done! That is a pretty big day from a direction you don‘t see many reports from. Thanks for sharing!

for the comments...

Jamie, it's looking pretty weather dependent... We were talking Uncompahgre, but lets see.
Mark, I only got to ice-climb twice this season man. Sorry I bailed on the Ouray invite... 14ers called.
Sarah, it was a blast. I'd like to finish the business I started on Uncompahgre in December but I might settle for something closer if the weather's totally screwy
Matt, Yale might be the "something closer", I'll get in touch with you later this week
Keith I only posted the pics that made us look pretty... I cast a modest veil over all the grunting and grumbling (mostly me)
KirkT, long time no see... I still have a CD of little bear pictures in my CD wallet but seem to have deleted the e-mail with your address where I was supposed to mail it

A small meal at the Bell? Ummm, yea... Sweet report and pics. It was a phenomenal day! Thanks for another great climb. I wish we could have gone over to Redcloud with you.
Next time? You two are going to have to come up with something pretty tempting to lure us away from Massive...what ‘ya got?
