 Sherman-Fourmile Creek

My first 14er attempt. This hike has a high starting point. We drove to the gate. From here the elevation is about 12,000 feet. It was cold! We met some other hikers who have summitted this one before. What I liked about this hike you have a 13er you can do also. I think is Mt Sheridan. Anyway, we began to walk up to the first shack. Having never done a 14er, I was winded! The trail is pretty flat after you pass the first shack. Then you begin climb up to the second shack. From here the trail was gone. Could not find it. Couple this with me beginning to feel sick, it was time to go back to the Hotel. Altitude sickness is no fun. Never want to get this again. However it was a great experience. Now with some valueable lessons learned I can continue my exploration of the 14ers.
