 The Last Glissade...

On Saturday afternoon, 4:47mst my brother text, "want to climb a 14er tomorrow?" As you have by now guessed, we actually climbed 2*. I am sure a lot of you have done Grays and Torreys so I will not go into much detail but here are some pics. The part that made the trip was my 1st but hopefully not last glissade. I have read about this but have never had the chance to do it so I was excited when we saw an opportunity to on the way down. My brothers friend John went 1st, good thing too because I am honestly not sure if I would have gone otherwise. I didn't know how to judge what was too steep and if it slowed down enough before the rocks. But John went and it was fine so my brother and I followed. There were 2 different snow fields and I got some pics of my brother down the first and also looking up the first one, then John got some shots of me coming down the second. Close call with a rock, kinda. Otherwise it was a very beautiful and fulfilling day, lots of people but that was expected and it always seems like the people you meet on 14ers are generally awesome so it was cool, there were 2 people on Grays summit celebrating birthdays and someone was cool enough to give me some m&m's so I could enjoy summit chocolates. (thanks) Overall it was a great Sunday. Here are some pics, please to enjoy.
*If I am going by the 3000ft rule I will need to return to officially summit Torreys, did someone say "Kelso Ridge." I got some good shots of a group coming over the knife edge too and it looked worth returning for.
