Sherman - SW Ridge + Excellent glissade

Climbed Sherman this morning, with 50+ of our closest friends :-)

Weather was some of the best I have experienced on a summit - 50+ degrees at 10 AM!

Anyway, I heard some people on the hike up mention that they had seen on "the web" that there was no snow on the route - not true. There didn‘t appear to be any snow on the Iowa Gulch/Leadville side, but there is a long snowfield that needs to be negotiated on the Fourmile side in order to gain the shoulder between Sherman and Sheridan.

The good news: Glissading down the snowfield was more fun than a man my age should have without medication. 100+ yds of steep, soft, sledding goodness. I would caution that more and more rocks are starting to reveal themselves at the bottom of the main chute, so watch your speed when you near the bottom.
