 Sherman - Fourmile TH

Wes and I headed up to the Fourmile TH on Sunday morning. We weren‘t sure what the road would be like, but there was nothing to worry about. The road to the TH is passable with only a few snow covered sections that didn‘t prove to be any trouble to get through. We parked past Leavick, but you could easily drive up to the gate right before the Dauntless mine.

There isn‘t a ton of snow yet, but there is a large cornice forming on the saddle between Sherman and Sheridan.

We chose to push further north towards a notch in the ridge. (it is on the left edge of this picture)

Once on the ridge there are a couple of dicey spots with snow on the ridge, but once you cross over to the west side of the ridge it is smooth sailing.

The summit is snow covered, but the register is still accessible. Wes and I headed northeast from the summit and took the white ridge (??) back down to the road.

Great day...good time...only problem was the wind which made it very cold on the southwest ridge to the summit.
