 Grays and Torreys Standard Route

We decided to take out toyota camry to the trail head. There were a couple rough patches for passenger cars, but it really didn‘t seem too bad. There was one spot where we had to do a slight water crossing, so I would say, if you want to take your passenger car, beware... it may take you some time. We made it up just fine, along with about four other cars.

We started hiking at about 8:45am. Seems like a bit of a late start, but we were lucky with the day. Not a cloud in the sky. We reached Grays at 11:30 and sat on the top for about 15mins. I was suprised to see a lot of people on the trail considering that it was a tuesday. There were about 15 people on the top of Grays.

Then we went on our way to Torreys. It only took about 45mins to summit. The view was spectacular, until the thunder clouds started rolling in, and then we figured we should be on our way.

Lucky for us, we ran into a herd of mountain goats on the way down, with one baby. I had been wanting to see some sheep or goats all day! There was a slight sprinkle all the way down, and then as we got to the car, around 3:00, it started to rain much harder, as well as lightning. I guess I have pretty good luck when it comes to the weather.
