Mt. Evans - Northeast Face from Summit Lake

Having only limited time on our last day in Colorado, the short route to the summit of Mt. Evans was the perfect fix. We arrived at the Summit Lake parking area at 6:30am (first car) and started our trek. Unfortunately, we did not go far enough down the road to find the trailhead, so we started nearer to the lake and worked our way diagonally (up and left) until we found the trail. This made the hike more difficult, but was our fault. The trail was in good condition in the lower section and becomes predominantly talus in the upper section.

We found this to be an enjoyable hike for anyone that is on limited time or simply doesn‘t want the duration of a long hike. We made the summit in around two hours and were back in south-Denver by hotel check-out time at noon. Below are a couple of photos showing the trail definition in the lower section and a couple of other views from the trip.
