 1st 14‘er

Great day today...1st 14'er. Had a partner, she couldn't make it.
Went solo...0900 and there were 40 cars in the lot.
No clouds and light winds blowing ESE @ 10 - 15 mph.

First pic is 1/3 of the way up, looking west (from base of mtn.) with view of cark park beyond lake.

At base of upper mountain for final ascent, wind/temp was down to low 50‘s...had to install the body wrap (sweater) for warmth.

Made the complete ascent in 2 hr 45 min. There had to have been 50 hikers at summit...crowded, with at least 8 dogs on trail/summit.
Winds at summit were 10+ mph/temp about 51...skies clear and visibility unlimited.

Stepping on the final stone @ 14,060 feet.

I bagged 2600' vertical feet!!
Thanks to friendly faces/people like Tammi from Denver and Arturo from Caracas, Venezuela...we all made our first together. Encourage, encourage, encourage.
Next one is Mt. Holy Cross???

And Happy Fathers Day Pops!!!
