 Way to go Team G

Good news folks, team G is back! Started the day at the West Winfield Trailhead....well sort of....actually we started the day about a mile and a half south of that and hiked in the wrong direction for about an hour. After we got turned around and headed back to the big metropolis of Winfield we found the real route and ascended that. The first part of the hike was great! Followed a roaring creek all the way to the large meadow right at tree line. Crossing the valley on route to the base of the summit approach is extremely WET!! A few small snow fields left, but lots of standing water...bring goretex! the scramble up to 13,200ish was hot....totally exposed with the sun blazing. My full length spandex got a bit ‘soggy‘ as we pushed on (the ladies love it!!). Once at the saddle we pushed on to be greeted by a false summit (thanks for mentioning that Roach!). It was about another .75 miles to the top and after a brief scramble we arrived. It was sunny and not too windy, after a few snap shots and a bite or two of powerbar it was go time. The descent was typical and moutain lion free!

Happy Hiking,
