 Solo on Mount sneffels

Got an extremely late start on sneffels on Thursday (11:30), however the weather looked like it might hold, so i took off at very fast pace and made it to the upper parking lot (12,500) from the restrooms (11,400). In about 40 min. From there i took off up the trail and around the corner to enter the gully that climbs, up the face of sneffels. Even with my late start and not much of a freeze the night before, i was able to walk up the snow without postholing, except on the edges near rocks. Upon reaching the couloir at the top, i found it to be full of rotten, nearly unclimbable snow, so i opted to do a couple of class 5 moves out of the couloir to climbers left, and climbed the rocky rib to the summit. The couloir made for an excellant glissade down, as did what snow was in the main gully. I made it back to my car in a time of about 4:15.
I was stupid enough to forget my camera in the car, but did take a couple pictures on the drive towards montrose, these should give some idea of the dallas creek side of the mountain.
