May 21st 05 from the Silver Creek TH

I hiked Redcloud Peak and Sunshine Peak on May 21st from the Silver Creek Trail Head. I left about 6:30am, but should have left earlier. Below tree line there was little snow cover, but lots of water and mud. The temperature had been in the 80's for the last few days, and was on the day I hiked as well. Above tree line was mostly snow cover until you reached the saddle, from the saddle to the summit was muddy. It was deceptively easy in the morning, but on my decent was extremely painful because I was post-holing up to my waist for at least a mile.

The saddle between Recloud and Sunshine was mostly dry with Sunshine's summit being the only real snow cover. I have pictures of the route if anyone would like to see.
