Mt. Bierstadt Hike via Guanella Pass - June 25

Solo hiked Mt. Bierstadt on June 25 via the Guanella Pass trailhead. Started climb at 5:45AM and summited at 7:45AM. Back at the trailhead at 10AM, after spending 45 minutes at the peak. I was well prepared for the temperature, which with the wind chill felt like sub-30 degrees. There were a couple of snowfields. The biggest challenge was scaling the boulders near the peak, which were covered with a thin layer of ice (rained earlier that morning), as the sun had not reached this side of the mountain yet. Saw one small marmot. Could see snow blowing off Grays Peak. On the descent I must have passed 100 or so people, many of which were wearing tennis shoes, which Im sure they regretted as the trail was very muddy in places and Scott Gomer creek was running high.
