(quote:76e68f91c2="Aubrey")As far as the ridge goes, Im not sure if you call it difficult 2 or easy 3; all I know is that it was a lot of fun. There was a "trail" in some parts, but it was easy to lose and found myself traversing along the top or just to the south (right) of the ridgeline most of the way. At one point I did go north a bit, but it was met with a steep slab. (/quote:76e68f91c2)

I did Yale yesterday. Id call the ridge easy 2. Its mostly rockhopping, occasionally using your hands for balance. I guess you could make it class 3 if you wanted, though, and I agree it was fun.

Gerry Roachs book makes it sound like the trail up to Yale is a bit hard to find, but theres a sign a bit more than a mile in from the trailhead. If anything the problem is there are "too many" trails in places, especially up the last stretch to the ridge. This has resulted in a lot of erosion, sadly. I hope future hikers try to stick to the route with all the switchbacks.

Absolutely stunning day. I swear I could see all the way to the San Juans to the southwest.
