Cool, another splendid peak with close Metro proximity. RMNP truly has so many quality hiking and climbing gems abound. Variable terrain's also in abundance for realizing quite memorable hobby accomplishments.

Finch Lake's reached after ascending 4 miles and 1,400 feet on nice trail.

Can't go wrong in RMNP, can you? Nice trip report. I've never done Copland, so thanks for showing me what I've missed!

Love RMNP 13ers, but

they sure make you work! Never been on Copeland, but it sure is a cool looking mountain, say from the perspective of Longs or Chiefs Head. Nice report and pics, but I do have some quibbles. When you say "fun bushwhacking" and "refreshing boulder hopping" you clearly identify yourself as someone much younger than I am.

Much appreciated

mathguy: Agreed.  They're arduous, diverse liesure aspirations.  Which, increases their enticement level.  Long-distance running refines balance and nimbleness
