Here is the story of suffering being induced from an overwhelmingly lazy off season. I had seen Mt. Silverheels menacing over Fairplay for years as I drove back and forth to/from Denver while I went to school in Gunnison. With reports of its standard route being somewhat dry, I figured it might be a good way to ease back into alpine excursions. This was an early-morning sunrise hike and I was rewarded with surreal vistas in all directions from the summit.
