 Quandary - East Ridge

I summited the peak on 9/4/2016, the trail was dry overall, a shower before I started, then two short showers during my hike, I didn't hide because no thunder/lightening at the two showers. Overall 5.5 hours round trip including 1 hour for the picture taking time.

I had a late start at 11:15am (pic. 1), passing the treeline in less than 1hour in 1.5 miles (pic.2); experienced strong wind at the east ridge at 13K' of elevation (pic 3), but the wind and some freezing rain was manageable. Heavy traffic on my way up as that was the time when most of the hikers on their way descending.

I saw fewer people from 13K' above, I was alone when I made to the peak. Then a lady came up, then a team of three, all young.

Beautiful view at the mountain top (pic. 4, 5, 6). A bit windy and chilly though, I spent 15 minutes or so on the top taking some pictures and started to descend. I had some altitude reaction as I just landed in Denver the previous afternoon from NYC area (zero elevation), so my way down was slow, I feel exhausted although this is, that I heard, one of the easiest 14er's in Colorado. There was a tiny hale store on my way down (pic 6b) but it was a passing cloud.

As a matter of fact I summited Longs 3 days later and I didn't feel as exhausted as after my hike to Quandary, again I blame my high-sickness. But it was a pleasant hike.
