 Presidential peaks

did the four peaks, weather was great, a little snow but could easily avoid it. The road to kite lake was pretty tore up, I was nervous in my Subaru Outback & wouldn't recommend anyone go up in a low sitting or 2wd vehicle. I am a Coloradan & it only took me 1.5 hours to get to the peak of Democrat, from there things got a little tricky. It was insanely windy but fairly easy traversing to the other peaks. Mt. Bross the last one was where things got bad-very gravely and sharp rocks. Most people were crab walking down because the rocks slid so easily. The trip report says 1.5 miles but I would guess more like 2.5. My large hound dog did great until we got to the final descent-that gravel sucked! Also no cell service on the road to kite lake. Plenty of free camping below the fee camping but very rocky/bumpy & wet.

Hi
Nice picture at the top. My dog did great until trip down to. That gravel is tough on the feet...
Nice climb.

I had an American Foxhound when I lived in Flagstaff. Greatest Dogs in the history of Dogs! Huge lung capacity, can run all day and sing all night.
