 Dyer Mountain Ski

"Winter" peak-bagging continues...

Date: Friday, 3/13/2016
Trailhead: Iowa Gulch
Elevation Gain: 3,000'
RT Distance: ~10 miles
RT Time: ~6 hours

This TR is more of an extended condition report of the standard route on Dyer Mountain.

A few inches of fresh snow from the night before provided surprisingly good snow conditions for a ski descent. One of the best parts about skiing Dyer is the long, easy cruise out to the car.

First look at the summit. Snow!

To gain this slope, we went right before angling left up to the rocks and power lines.

We booted this short section.

The upper line was nothing great but it was continous.

Not a lot, but fresh powder nonetheless.

Nice work on both TR's, you might want to add a purple asterisk to those purple snowflakes though.

I know! This is some seriously-easy winter peak travel. Once Spring starts this weekend, I hope we start to get some snow.
