 Northeast Chute Delivers The Corn

After a fun evening in Boulder I headed back home for a good nights sleep. I had made plans though to try and squeeze one in before I had to get the kids from school. We had originally been looking at a steep north facing line but with how hard the snow was I was worried about skiing a line like that with a large cliff in the middle and then also having to throw rope work into the mix. The other day I had been eying up Ganley and its Northeast Chute. The line goes right from the frontage road and climbs roughly 3500 to the summit. The last time I was in the area the snow banks were pretty big and parking wasn't possible. This time I thought it would be doable.

So I met Gary at the Bakersville parking lot and he jumped in the truck for a short drive down to the "trailhead"... More words and pics here Ganley Mountain 12,908 Northeast Chute - 4/25/2014 Corntacular

So the total vert is about 3500'. From the top of the line you're looking at about 2800 vert. The bottom of which is thick aspens. It's still a great line though.
