Color Me Crazy - Little Bear West Ridge Direct

This was the first time I had climbed with other members through the climbing connection. I was a bit worried about taking on Little Bear and hopefully the traverse with complete strangers, but it turned out to be an amazing, exciting climb on a very rarely climbed route. We didn't make the traverse, but felt like we got a taste of it, or maybe even something a bit rougher through the West Ridge Direct. I've only done about 9 14ers, but for some crazy reason I've done Little Bear twice now... I also added a route description to which can be found here.

The trip report is on my blog, but I'll leave a few images here to give you a taste of what is in the report:

Great pics. Nice to see some traffic recently on the WRD, I think it's the better route vs. the Hourglass, but understand it's also a bit tougher. Great job!

Good Memories

A friend and I did that route in 1982,but all I had to record it was a crappy Instamatic camera. Those shots are buried somewhere. I'll never forget those big drops though. Not a good place to have your shoelace untied. Nice report

I thought I was bummed before...

That's a lot of suspect rock with huge exposure. Nice work.
