 Denny Creek

We took off up the Denny creek trail around 8am. Trails is good condition ie, snow was not a factor. Above tree line the snow was in spots and drifts around. This climb was with a few of people that had never climbed in winter alpine conditions. The wind was the factor that made things rough at some points blowing snow and the trail was covered in powder. The climb up to the ridge was good and the trail was mostly visible with around a half foot of snow. on the ridge its self the winds picked up a ton, clods rolling inn and out fast and blowing snow made it rough to see if you had no eye gear. The summit was good was on top around 12:45. The trek back down was easy moving out of the heavy winds and snow around 12,000 feet.

Conditions vs. Trip Report
10/14/2012 20:09
First of all, as someone looking for updates this fall in the changing weather let me just say: Thanks for posting this. Next, I'll just mention that there is also a ”Conditions Report” section, similar to this ”Trip Report” section, that reports like this are better suited for. So, next time you might consider posting a quick update like this in that ”Condition Report” area. It's just not as involved as what people expect from a trip report. Hopefully that's helpful. Personally I don't really care when people post stuff like this under either area of the website, but I'm guessing that's why you got a ”Dislike” for this report. Because for anyone looking to climb Yale I'm sure this will be helpful.
