| Dog Found! Need Help! |
My wife and I were doing Bierstadt/Evans today via Sawtooth. We found a friendly female german shepherd that was injured and appears to have been there for several days. We gave her food and water but were unable to get her out. Her paws are pretty damaged and she refused to walk (unfortunately she is too big to carry and wasn't cooperative).
If you are doing this hike, or even just Bierstadt, please help this poor dog and bring her some food and water (location attached). If she can make it just a little while longer then she may heal enough to be able to get out on her own.
We have contacted every rescue service we can think of and no one is willing to help us get her. We have been trying to think of how to get her out. We were thinking possibly a large backpack but there is a lot of difficult terrain to cover with large unstable boulders and a lot of elevation.
