 finished plus some

Well first one of the season out of the way and my what a rough one it was right off the bat. So first off the weather was crazy good all day, which was a really good thing on account that it took my group 8 hours to do it. Never again will i invite inexperienced hikers who tell me that that have some experience! Back to the report, the road is in great condition all the way from bottom to top. Origionally we started out with an H3 and a Honda CR-V. The CR-V made it until about the Colorado Trail then I parked and all 8 of us all piled into the H3 and drove to the top of the third swithback and parked. After that we walked up to the top of the road(completely missing the trail turn off). We then turned to see the trail below and sadly walked all the way back down and started up. 3 hours later 4 of the 8 of us summited and 45min after that another 3 summited, the last one was not feeling well so he stopped. At that point we all came down and 4 hours later all came to the car. We figure that if the lead group had not stopped to wait for all the others we could have easily done we could have done the trip in under 3 hours and come down in around 1.5 hours. We were very lucky that the weather held as well as it did and the over all trip was a blast. Sorry for no pictures. Thank you to all of those on this website that helped me gather info, you were all greatly appreciated!
