We arrived at the Grays Peak trailhead just before 7. The sunrise was an awesome site coming over the newly snow capped ridge to the east. From the trailhead (11280 ft.) it was an easy dry hike to about 12,500 ft. There seemed to be about 1/2 an inch of fresh snow. The temperature climbed only to around 40 at noon, and was dropping as we descended. The aspens have passed thier peak colors, and most have dropped thier leaves, a hint of the winter weather around the corner. All in all a nice climb, but I'd gear-up for snow if I was going any later in the season.
