 Mount Elbert - Northeast Ridge

We started around 7am and the lot had about 20 cars already there. It took us about 3 hours and 45 minutes to make it to the Summit, including two stops in which we took photo's, snacked, and drank water. We stayed up and enjoyed the views for about 20 minutes and then decided to ead back because the clouds rolling in were looking a little unfavorable. On the way back we got sprinkled on right when we left the Summit. We noticed a lot of 'late' hikers within the last mile of heading back to the trailhead, also got about 5 minutes of heavy rain during this time. All in all, this was my first 14er, and tomorrow we are going to hike Quandary Peak!

Elbert as your first 14er...getting the highest one out of the way first...great job!
