 Quandary: Summit #9

After a very easy summit of Sherman, I took a day off then started for Quandary Wednesday morning at 5:30. I arrived at the trailhead with two other groups and started out several minutes ahead of them. It did not take long for them to pass me..along with a dozen other hikers! I traveled from out of state, so I had a short window to finish this peak!

My legs were still tired from Sherman and within an hour I knew this would be a looong day!

Finally on top! Took me 3:13..about an hour longer than I hoped..

I made the round trip in 5:30..not far off from my goal. I was able to move fast on the way down, although the rocks made it tricky. Despite an injury, lack of training and an extra 10lbs, I'm happy with my trip this year! Looking forward to Elbert next year!
