 Chicagoans on Sunlight and Windom

My group and I did the entire Chicago Basin group during a stay from 7/19 to 7/21. LTWitte, my brother, has already made his own trip report with some great write-up. I'm sharing my own report link to my blog as a supplement to his as I have an entire assortment of photos and YouTube videos documenting the trip. I invite you to check it out and I hope it is useful to others.

Here is one of my favorite panoramas from this trip from Sunlight's summit (its a big file so its linking to Picasa)

Here are some basic photos in case you don't hit the link that will give the basic trail beta:

The tracks to Sunlight and Windom split and are visible in the snow here. Snow was easy to pass on.

Another look at the upper basin below Sunlight/Windom

A look up the scree gully to Sunlight

From the notch on Sunlight looking ahead. Some snow, but not an issue

Summit photo at Sunlight

A look at the traverse area between Sunlight and Windom. Snow hard to avoid. May want ice ax just in case

A look ahead at the remaining climb to the Windom/Peak 18 Saddle

A look at the Windom summit block area

Nice trip report. Did you jump up to the top of Sunlight on the blocks?

I decided no on the summit blocks. My brother went up. I'd watched Youtube vids dozens of times and seen all the photos and knew what to expect ... and it still was amazing, and overwhelming. Didn't feel it that day.
