 The Walkers' Haute Route

After hiking 30 14ers, my wife and I decided to go bigger: the Walker's Haute Route from Chamonix, France to Zermatt, Switzerland. True, this isn't a 14er, but it'll knock your socks off. If you have the opportunity, I HIGHLY recommend that you do this hike.

I've put together a full trip report, including GPX files, a KMZ Google Earth file, a spreadsheet breaking down maximum elevations, distances, and costs in case you're planning to tackle this trek.

Check out the full trip report here:

Looks like you experienced the whole 9 yards of the European Alps, what a place. Behind tramping in New Zealand, ski trip to Japan and some climbs in Peru, this about the only other international interest I think I'll be able to fit in to this lifetime, for now, I shall live ivcariously through this particularly well done TR.

Thanks for the detailed, visually stunning report.

Great trip report!

I watched a segment on this route a few years ago and I've been interested ever since. Thanks for posting!
