 Grays-main route

so my friend and i woke up at 430 to leave for the peak by 5:00am from Colorado Springs. We were up to the TH by 8:15 and started out with great weather and good spirits. everything was going well until we didnt see the trail vear to the left in a hair pin turn and we kept going right. this little turn cost us 45 min and was the reason we almost go hit by lightning. But at about 12 we peaked and it was amazing, it was my first ever 14er and it was well worth the effort! but thats when things started to get kinda bad. my friend and I decided to try up Torry's peak ,which is clear all the way to the top, we got down into sattle and when we looked back a storm was fastly approaching with lightning very present among it. we decided to go back down and thats when the lightning started. this is the first time i have ever had to run so fast down the side of a mountain. but hey it even the run was pretty fun, although very scary. Moal of the story, GO EARLY!!!!!!!

Grays peak- clear all the way to the top
Torry's Peak- clear all the way to the top
TH- very clear, can do it in most cars
