Hike to Remember in my life

We hiked with 5 friends and family on June 25, 2011. It's not good idea to hike Missouri Mountain this time without proper gear like Snow shoe.

It took us about 10 hrs to finish it up due to the snow condition where we spent little bit time to find out the actual trail. We took the random ways up and try to find the actual trail where ever possible.

The interesting thing about this hike was, in couple of places, we did slide going down, rather than hiking, due to huge amount of snow on our way.

This mountain will be in good enough to hike in two to three weeks time, I guess.

One of the best hike ever due to snow, snow shoe, and snow slide. On the top of that, the day was perfect to hike. Keep hiking and hike smartly.

I have a question, which route did you take up Missouri, was it from Chilosy Lake or from Missouri Gulch?

That is what I was thinking looking at other pics. Amazing how Missouri is holding so much more snow than BelOx. Will have to wait on Missouri for a couple more weeks yet it seems.

Standard Route

We took the standard route to go up, through Missouri Gulch. Yes, you have to wait couple of weeks for sure to melt the snow, if the weather condition remain good like the day we hike.

Looks like you all had a great time. I love the Missouri Gulch route. Belford and Oxford were my first 14ers and that valley fills up with so many wildflowers; it is awesome. I found hiking Missouri to be quite a bit more difficult that Bel/Ox combined!

Difficult due to snow

Thank you Dr. Dave!!!

I hiked the Belford and Oxford last year with descend timing. This year, this is my second 14ers, and this one is more difficult due to the snow on the trails and we have to find our own trails. Definitely, it will be difficult to hike around this time.
