9/1/2023 Posted On: 9/3/2023 By: rcpelikan Info: This trailhead received heavy use on the Labor Day weekend. The road itself is still passable by 2WD cars, but is beginning to show washboarding and larger divots higher up that weren't there last week.
8/9/2023 Posted On: 8/9/2023 By: psa954hiker Info: The road to the trailhead is in very good shape as of yesterday. No deep ruts or washouts. I think any 2WD vehicle could make it. There was a Toyota Camry at the TH. Also mosquitos were no problem at the TH mid-afternoon but there were plenty at the lake in the early evening. | 1 |

7/4/2023 Posted On: 7/4/2023 By: Gibson135 Info: Mosquito activity is pretty intense there right now. About 2 minutes after arriving, with my truck door open while unloading there were about 30 already inside of it taking over. It was fine inside the tent. As far as on the trail: mosquitos activity ends after about 2 miles and was fine around the lake.
5/24/2023 Posted On: 5/25/2023 By: TeocaliTripper Info: Road is open and clear all the way to trailhead. Pit toilets are stocked as well. The road is passable by any 2wd vehicle as long as you take care if you don't have a lot of clearance. However, we did have to help a stuck VW van that had driven off the center of the road into a gutter so take that how you will...
