Notes: Day #3 of this hiking trip after doing Grays and Sherman via Iowa gulch. Today it was Nicole, Jason Schmidthuber and I hiking...and about 300 other people. We started out at 7am with a large crowd already, which slowed us down a lot all day, especially descending. The weather was clear and slightly warm...very nice. We summitted in just over 3 hrs and spent about 15 min at top with a snack. There were mountain goats on the trail just about 500 ft from the summit so we stopped to watch a while and snap some photos. I had to make an emergency bathroom stop on the way down. It was painfully slow at spots while descending where the crowds were pretty thick...our fault for picking a saturday for this hike. The last 1/2 of the way down was pretty fast as the uphill crowds thinned. Nice finish to a three day hike of 14er‘s.
