Notes: Our flight got in at 9am from MN, we drove right out to Grays and were on a late start by 11am, not a great time to get going. Just Nicole and I on this hike today and tomorrow‘s hike. Jason plans on joining us two days from now. The plan was to do Torreys also if time, weather and crowds allowed. Nicole did great, but I struggled with the altitude since we didn‘t have an overnight to acclimatize a bit and was winded despite being in better shape than the previous year‘s 14er‘s trips. There was a moderate to large crowd of people on the mountain and we made it to the top in 3:45, slowed more by my breathing than the crowd. We stayed on top only about 5 minutes due to the gray clouds and did not attempt to do Torreys. We only saw a few marmots on the way down, finishing in a long 6 hrs by our standards. Hopefully tomorrow will go better after this acclimating and a good nights sleep!
