I drove all the way to the TH in a Jeep Compass 4X4 -- it has 8.2 inches of clearance. I used 4WD and took it very slow in a few places, but I did not have any issues. The road is narrow, and I was thankful that I did not meet another vehicle. I would not do it without 4WD, although if it was dry a high clearance 2WD truck might make it.
