 Status Update
No status update, I am a noob to Huron and was looking to see if there are others out there that could help.

Read the reports but am mixed as to my drive to the trail head, I have a 2009 Subaru Forester with about 10" of clearance. I also do not have a lot of off road experience, would the drive to the upper TH be a good idea or should I play it safe and stop at the 2WD TH?

Any advise would help, Thanks.

You should post this on the Forum. You'll get more responses there.

I haven't been up to Clear Crk/S Winfield this year, but have seen Subaru's at the upper TH in years past.
Conditions can vary, though, and it'd be great to get input from someone who has been up there this spring.

Good luck!

Not too hard

It€„˘s definitely Subaru-able, nothing on the road is crazy hard. That being said, it does make a lot of people uneasy and you might not feel like going all the way up. The rocky section at the very very beginning is in my opinion the most difficult part. Past that, just pull off whenever you stop feeling comfortable. Tons of dispersed parking and camping along the road. Just give it a go and I think you€„˘ll be surprised how capable your Forester is.
