Plowed to the trailhead - I can't say whether this is always the case or not, but it was this time around. The road is icy, snowy, and muddy in spots but wasn't a problem in my Civic. There's a bathroom at the Cataract Gulch Trailhead and it was unlocked and stocked with toilet paper.
