Road is passable for 2wd vehicles for approx 2mi from I-70. Road is blocked by avalanche debris mentioned below and will likely stay that way for quite some time. Parking is limited. Closure is at ~10,800‘. Road is almost completely melted beyond this point; skiers will most likely want to bring trail runners to hike to summer TH and possibly beyond.

Once you find a parking spot and pass the avalanche debris how far is the actual trail head of Grays Trail? The recent articles in 5280 listed the Greys & Torreys loop as 8.25 miles--I'm just curious to know how accurate others would say this is?

It adds an additional mile in each direction, so about 2mi total round trip.

Thanks for the update. Did you get any pictures of the avalanche area on the road?
