There is a section about 1/2 to 3/4 mile below the old miner building that has much deeper and wider potholes than there were a month ago, probably caused by heavy rain on Sunday. I made it to the TH in a Honda Accord and there were only 2 other 2WDs there but most 2WDs stopped and parked along the road below that section. One person got stuck and I saw what looked like oil in the road after that section from someone bottoming out.

The section in question is next to the newer house--about 1.5 miles up from Bakerville. I heard about a 4WD vehicle getting stuck in it on Sunday 8/21. Yes it was not there as of 7/15, when I was there last. It's manageable, but takes a fair amount of care, especially going down. It is a significant degradation to the road condition, though is just a short patch.
