Snow starts a few hundred yards after the road turns to dirt but with a decent SUV or truck you can make it to the first switchback in the road - there was a lot of melting on Saturday so you should be able to get a bit higher by next weekend. Road is in pretty good shape and should be fine for any stock 4wd vehicle.
