Snow closure on the Fourmile Creek Road (the road to Leavick, standard trailhead for Mt. Sherman) is about 1 mile west of the Fourmile Campground. From snow closure it is about 1 mile to the ghost town of Leavick. The elevation at snow closure is about 10,970 feet. I wore snowshoes to the Hilltop Mine at about 12,900 feet, then hiked on boots above that point. It took me just under five hours with heavy camera gear to reach the summit just before sunrise. The photo below was shot on the summit at sunrise looking north.
