I drove part of the way to the Steven‘s Gulch Trailhead today, parking at the Grizzly Gulch turn off and skiing up from there. The road is mostly snowpacked, with a few bare spots (most notably a section that is about 100ft long, directly in front of the second slide path).
Although I ended up skiing part of the access road, at this time it is still passable the entire way to the trailhead by any all wheel drive vehicle (I saw a low-clearance Subaru at the trailhead).
Skiing conditions on the road were rather mediocre. The road can be skied without damaging your equipment, but you‘ll need to portage the bare areas, and watch for protruding rocks.
